Joe,
Is this the same car in the photos you posted from your wedding day ? I assume catching and hauling the great white is from you earlier bachelor days... or maybe the honeymoon? I just don't know if I'd want to sit on the passenger seat afterwards.Mark Edmondson

Re: A tall fish tail story ! Honey its Friday , fish for dinner...
When I was young and attending U of O, (1968-1971) I drove my 61 Corvette to the auction and bought a 150+ pound pig. A friend helped me put a gunny sack over its front legs and head and one over its back legs. We managed to get it in the trunk, but the lid wouldn't shut so we tied the lid down and drove it up to a friends farm. When we brought the pig out of the auction yard, my Corvette backed up to a gate , I remember saying to the people lined up looking at the car with it's trunk lid open, "you should see what I drive on Saturday nights". If you've ever dealt with a pig, the squealing and carrying on is unbelievable. It nearly got loose of the gunny bags and was trying to stand up. But , my farm friend dressed it and brought it into town. We cooked it in the ground and had a great party. Man was it tasty! I don't think I would consider using the car today as I used to. No more watching the air show with a girl friend and I sitting on the car with our feet dangling over the seats, and no more animals in the trunk. I drive it regularly on club runs, picnics etc., but top flight is too precious to me to ever allow another pig in the car.- Top

I met a lot of people with that car. I had a St Bernard that used to ride in the front seat looking over the windshield. Stop at a crosswalk and girls crossing would stop to pat the dog. Usually, the dog wasn't the only one getting attention later those days. Probably shouldn't admit it, but since I've owned the car, it is a virgin car so to speak. Had a few girl friends say they would fix that, but never happened. Probably because I really couldn't figure out how to go about it with the big steering wheel and me being 6'4 it just didn't seem like it would be much fun, but I did carried a nice blanket in the car. Forest service roads in Oregon were well maintained and most of them seem to take one out to the middle of nowhere. Those were the days.- Top

Those were the days? There are still a lot of back roads and , yes a blanket does come in handy to to prevent knee rash, you do remember knee rash?
