    C1 hood hinge assembly procedure

I disassembled my original hood hinges and purchased new pivot pins and springs from Paragon. Does anyone have a procedure for reassembling these? Were the hinge pins "staked", meaning a cross pressed into the end with a hydraulic press or were they simply mushroomed out? Can any of you post a picture of some original hinges? I'd really appreciate your help.

The originals on my '59 are not staked, just an even mushroomed end. I measure the peened end at 0.400 inches in diameter.

Identifying the year would help me to know which style you are asking about.

Thank you Bill. It looks like an even "mushrooming" of the end of the pin. Wondering how it was done at the manufacturer?

I could guess (cold upset?) if I knew what the hinge pin looks like, but I'm not going to disassemble my hinges when I restore them!
