No Shipping Data Available? Possible Reasons?

I've obtained shipping data reports 2 times previously, I'm now working on a new 1969 restoration, and submitted a request for shipping data report and was notified now shipping data available for my car. The car build date is October 1969.

Any insight?

Sometimes the microfiche is not readable, so in that case there is nothing to tell you.

Shipping data not available on my last week of production December 1969 built car. Must be a lot of the late 69 info missing or unreadable.

I would concur, nothing on my November 1969 built car as well. I was REALLY disappointed since the gas tank had been replaced before I bought the car back in 1976 and didn't care about it's history back then. It must be a big range since I heard it includes early 70's as well.

That is correct. Seems like GM stopped doing the record keeping at the end of Sept/early Oct 69 for the 69 model year. Somewhere around vin 31000 is the end. The 1970 model year seems to be OK for the most part.

Maybe for the most part, but not for some of us early 1970 owners.

Later in the program we did identify additional data and had another DVD made. It contains 1970 cars from about vin 75 to 2165. There are still some missing vins and poor quality fiche. It you earlier got a "No Data" reply you may want to try again or give me your vin and I'll check to see if we have it.

Mark, does this pertain to 1970 cars (S/N 75-2165) only, or for late 1969 cars as well?

Mark, I tried early on for my 72 coupe and there was some sort of problem with missing data I think, could you re-check my VIN 19388, if you need more of the VIN let me know. just curious if there is any info or just totally missing.

Mark --- FWIW, I don't know what the "record keeping" entails, but GM Canada records show microfiche data (options, dates, dealer #, etc.) on '69 VINs 34039 thru 34617 (roughly Nov 1st thru 7th) on a sheet I have, covering the cars shipped to Canada. So the mechanism was in place, and working.

I did get an email notice of a shipping date, but the window sticker I sent in next was "unable to be verified," so I am thinking the bulk of the data for 194370S402161 (see I can do that from memory, but don't ask me to do the same for the 2008) is missing.
