63 License plate light lens question

Does anyone know how to tell the difference between the lens, I have two of them and both lens are slightly different, one of them I believe is a older GM replacement assy. which the socket is not correct but has a lens. and the other is a trim parts assy. will either of the lens work for judging?(I do now have a correct base assy. with the correct socket, but the lens have me questioning which if any can be used).

If I remember correctly, the original ones are thicker than reproduction ones.
