    Flame Arrestor For 63 L-76 Chrome Air Cleaner

    I have the Service Bulletin which shows how to modify a subject filter housing to install a flame arrestor. I'll probably never need it again living here in Florida, but the recent distributor difficulties I had with a few back fires w/o an air filter on made me think of it again. I have a small stainless steel sink drain screen that I think I can make work (much as I hate to install any hardware in my filter housing cause I have had trouble with that type thing before too).

    Any thoughts or opinions, or has anyone else had a crankcase explosion such as mine from 1972??

    Can you scan and post the TSB?

      Duke;

      I can try; however, seems I can't even get that Trains article to go through to you. It says it will try one more day. I'm new to this Apple systems equipment as all of our Micronsoft Equipment crashed and was taken over by someone in New Deli (?)

      Failing that, do you have a convenient Fax number you cam send me by P.M.?

      The number, in case you have access to it or Uncle John Hinckley comes to our rescue, is A.I. 63-10 (Apparatis Instruction) dated February 12, 1963. And, by golly, one of my copies comes from pages #216 and 217 of the previous edition of the 1963-64 NCRS Corvette Technical Information Manual and Judging Guide. It apparently was dropped from the latest revision to this manual.

        Speaking of the Technical Information Manual and Judging Guide, why are Service Releases included in them in the first place; as filler pages alone or perhaps to alert owners and judges to changes they may find included on some cars and not others. In the case of the A.I. I referenced above, had I proceeded with the dealer (or owner) modification described therein and showed up on the judging field, would it be recognized as a legitimate change and not garner a points deduction?
