    78 Hood Insulation

    I have been looking to replace my tired hood insulator mat and cannot find a suitable repro or NOS that is molded. Everything appears to be flat replacement stuff. Any ideas on where I might look......

          David,

          The part number is 472800 for a 78 and it is available thru your GM Parts Dealer. List $247.00. It comes from the discontinued parts dealer thru GM.

                  JR...........you are the man! My local chev dealer ordered me one and they said they had 10 in stock at $247.76. A bit spendy but its NOS. The flat replacements are not molded and fit loose if you use the stock pins. The vintage GM parts warehouse is located in Wisconsin and only sells to dealers so thanks for the heads-up. The dealer never crossed my mind. Better yet its here in one day and no add'l shipping costs.
