Are 1955 v-8 radiators being correctly reproduced? Are they restorable (replace core)?

I have a shop that will recore one with the correct looking core
He also does my 53-54 radiators

dewitts has a correct core to repair the original radiator, but by the time you get it back from the radiator shop it will cost you as much as the dewitts direct fit radiator for 55 thru early 60. the direct fit is a aluminum radiator that is more efficient than the original radiator and appears identical to the original except for the mounting bracket. the mounting bracket is the 58 thru early 60 style that is approximately one inch shorter than what was originally on the 55 thru 57. the bracket still bolts right into a 55 to 57 and I doubt that too many people would notice the difference.

I had a 1955 radiator recored in Peoria Ill. Bryan Hepper. My radiator was a late 1955 for my 1956 .

Yep - I have all my 54 recored in Peoria IL - guy does great work
