1970 Body Mount Fastener Hardware Finish

For a 1970, the bolts are plated but I wasn't sure on the finish of the lock washers and thick washer? Thanks for any help.

From the info I have, the lock washer #103228 is phosphate plated.

That 7/16 lock washer is used on the brake caliper mounting, rear shock upper mounting, lower control arm, and a few other spots.

            Bill,

Can you check the part number for the lock washers in the '70 AIM?

            Thanks,

            Gary

              Rich,

Are you sure that part number is not 103328?

                  Rich,

In that case I have notes for GM # 103328 lock washer that say the GM engineering drawing notes the following: "Carbon Steel SAE 1060 or Equivalent 38-46 HRC. Finish plain". I think the dark gray color on those washers comes from the heat treatment required for the 38-46 HRC hardness spec. I believe that all GM locks washers with part numbers 103xxx, such as 103319, 103320, 1033321, 103328, 103329, 103330, have a similar finish appearance.
