    I might as well get in on this . Off my 396, but by no way original. Can't recall where I got it. It has the rounded "S" and the CSM (or is it SMC) logo -- in fact stamped twice. Looks like it was dipped to me; (in paint ?). Coating is definitely too thin to chip.
