Mike, I've been modifying the junk ones available to obtain .015" -.020" gap with the cap contacts by relocating the tip of the rotor.

I understand there is now a correct spacing rotor available.

Mike, I have been running K&B in my small blocks it has the extended tip and they are in driveline. really make some quality products.

There's a lesson in this, too: it's not just GM parts that get discontinued. It happens with aftermarket parts, too.

Mike,
Since you're a tinkerer and world renowned racer and restorer you might enchoy modifying the crummy HEI rotor by using a soldering iron to melt the plastic that holds the electrode, and extending it outward by a few thousandths. Really not hard to do, and you'll be the envy of your family, friends, enemies, and creditors too!
I'd post a picture of how mine looks after the "operation" but this website is no longer "attachment" friendly.

PS: I replaced the "surgically altered" one with a K&B part, but that was just too darned easy.

I too have discovered that I cannot post a picture attachment if I enter the website using Explorer 8, but if I enter using Google Chrome picture attachments work fine.
