I have the proper "Kennedy Cut" front wind lace for my convertible top to replace the too fat one. I would appreciate any tips or advice on the procedure to replace it, like what is the best staple gun to use, positioning tips, etc. Thanks for any help.

Can't help with the how but this is how it should look when done. This is an original top on a 63.

Re: Advice on '64 convertible top front wind lace replacement
Mike, the front wind lace from Al Knoch is about 3/4" to short on each side, my 63 was judged at our regional and the wind lace was judged as being to short at the ends. I think that this seems to be the latest issue with the Knoch top kits. Its a small deal as configuration goes. I believe that Al will custom make the wind lace if asked.New England chapter member, 63 Convert. 327/340- Chapter/Regional/national Top Flight, 72 coupe- chapter and regional Top Flight.- Top

Re: Advice on '64 convertible top front wind lace replacement
Thanks Harry and Ed. Yes, I ordered the wind lace special from Al, explaining my issue at the last judging, it is not part of the kit they send. And now it is in place and looks just like Harry's and the Bow Tie '64s I have pictures of. Thanks guys.Big Tanks In the High Mountains of New Mexico- Top
