Terry---Your trailing arms certainly seem to be original with the heavy duty spindles. It seems there were three combinations of axles and trailing arms. It would be interesting to hear about some other 70 LT-1s between your 7802 and my 14297.

Gerard--My LT-1 is in pretty good unrestored conditition, but I replaced the 350/370 with an aluminum ZL-1 427 over 30 years ago. The original hood would not clear a big block with a high rise manifold so I had to use a L-88 hood. I'm tired of not having the original hood on it, but I'm not yet tired of the ZL-1. I started to replace the high rise manifold with a 71 LS-6 low manifold today so I can put the original LT-1 hood back on. I'll take some pictures tommorrow with the partially disassembled ZL-1 and the hood removed.

Gerard-- At the 1988 NCRS National Convention in Lancaster, PA, NCRS had a drag race event at Maple Grove dragway. My car had the fastest time of the day which about 12.5 and 114 mph. This was back when C2s and C3s were faster than new Corvettes. I don't think NCRS has run a drag race since, but the new Z-06s and ZR-1s would certainly leave our old C3s in the dust. This is the first time I have had the engine partially apart since about 1987. I was very pleased with how clean and fresh the ZL-1 still looked under the manifold.
