    A/C hose fitting help

Hello all! I am having trouble getting a tool on the fitting that attaches to the bottom of the POA valve. Even with the splash shield off and up on a lift, I can't get a tool on the hex of the fitting. Anybody have a suggestion for a tool or tool modification that will help? Thanks!

    Jeff,

I purchased two crows foot style wrenches that connect to a socket wrench, one style with 6 sides (first attached link) and one set with a fully open end (second link). It's the only way I could get these given the tiny amount of space.

        Patrick and Larry,
Thanks for your responses. I had thought I would buy a proper size open end wrench and heat and bend the tool so I could get the open end on the fitting and the bend would clear the frame/body, etc. Can a standard open end wrench be bent (with heat)?

I can let you borrow the proper size wrenches if you want to use them.
With an extension on your socket you can do a lot.
You know how to get a hold of me if you're interested.

Later today I am picking up a 1 1/4" crow foot from Production Tool. I am hoping this will work as Patrick has suggested. Patrick- thanks for the offer to lend me the tools but for the $17 the crow foot cost, I will have tool for future use. I will let you know how it works.

Double check the size - I thought it was 1 1/16 or 1 1/8. I ended up using a micrometer to measure it, and I'm not at home to check the size.

1 1/4" is the right size. I had new hoses crimped onto the original fittings. Checked it this morning but haven't had the time to attach the fitting and see if the crow foot works. I'll let you know.
