The tie rod clamp bolts on my 65 were 3 "RSC" bolts and one "TR" bolt . All had nuts and lock washers . I bought new bolts from Long Island and they are RSC with a locking nut . The judging manual is no help and the assy.manual does not call for a locking nut . what are the judges looking for ?

Re: 65 tie rod end clamp bolts
Jim,
I think that's what Bill was asking...which way was it originally. His current configuration is nut and lock washer but the TIM&JG is not telling him if that is correct or not.
Bill, FWIW, my '67 has nut and lock washer combo. They are NOT original so I can't attest to whether they are correct or not. The '67 TIM&JG doesn't specify either. They're is a picture of a tie rod end but the angle doesn't allow you to see whether there is a lock washer or not. What you can see of the nut in the picture appears to be a standard (non-locking) nut. Hope this helps.Leif

Re: 65 tie rod end clamp bolts
I am not certain on the change time frame but I think it's somewhere in 1966.
My August built 67 convertible has the locking nut and as being it's a very early 67 my feeling is that all 67 M/Y cars had the locking nut.- Top
