1967 Trim Tag Missing Month Code

Hi there!! Hope everyone is doing well ----

Looking for some guidance on the attached photo---

This is a fairly early A.O. Smith bodied roadster Vin number 95xx ---built in early February of 67. (February 1st or 2nd.)

As you will note in the attached photo there is no month code on the trim tag --- just the number 19 (assume January 19th given the final build date of the car).....so I was expecting to see "F 19" here ---

Has anyone seen this anomaly before? How would it be judged? Any other insight would be appreciated.

    Regards
    Bill

I had a 1966 maroon 427/390 coupe without the month or date on the trim tag.I never had it judged but i have heard of others missing month or date or both...

Thanks Don --- you are confusing me with Joe --- no relation ---

That said --- if the trim tag is found to be "not original" the current 67 judging manual states that after the team leader indicates a "concern" with the trim tag --- the National Judging Chair or representative must be consulted --- if that individual "verifies" the "concern" judging ceases at that point --- so I am postulating here that if the tag is found to be non-original GM and not native to the car --- judging ceases --- end of story ---

Did I miss something regarding still scoring a second flight with a replacement tag?

I should have mentioned that all other aspects of the trim tag posted here seem to check out with the Authentication Library Volume one (Sinor / Greening) --- so that said --- the question still remains --- is the lack of the month code an issue ??

My guess is no per your final statement but still open to opinions on this ---

      Thanks
      Bill

The 1967 Judging Manual is correct. Years ago it used to be a car could only get a 2nd flight with a non GM trim tag, but NO MORE. The Judging Reference manual gives a more in depth answer to the question. Not sure if this is the same car but if so- it's been sold twice on ebay in the last few years. I don't see any problems with the tag. There are lots real GM tags out there with miss stamped info or lacking info. We seen cars that POP show one color and trim tag another color. These tags were made by humans.

What's the Body #? Just to see if it falls into a group of cars during that period of assembly.

              Hey Page --- thanks ---

Not sure of the sale history on this car but I think --- as you said this is not totally unusual ---- i.e. the mis-stamp ---
