alternator

I hate to beat a dead horse but I just saw an 1100859 42 amp alternator on ebay. It shows a date of 9 D 22. I would assume that my early C4 69 base model would need an 8 showing instead of a 9??? I this April 22 of 69???

9 D 22 = April 22 1969.

Ideally you would want an alternator dated a month or so before your car's assembly date so the date of April 22 1968 wouldn't work either.
