Names etched on bottom of rear bumpers

I just noticed that there are two names vibro peened on the bottom insides of my rear bumpers. I seem to recall that this was the latest, greatest anti theft idea like in the '70s or '80's maybe. The names are "S.A. Frist" and "Winwood." Ok, somebody tell me they know these guys.

Some guys did that prior to sending bumper out for replating.

I've been doing that for years on everything I have apart for major repair or modification. In addition to my name I also include the date. It will give future generations something to think about.

When I picked up my bumpers from the platter, my full name was etched into the backside. I didn't appreciate it much but they said they always do it to make sure the customer gets their own bumpers back.
