KYB Shocks and IRS Don't Mix

I've seen other posts about this but still wanted to post my bad experiences with KYB shocks. I just found my third case of a practically new KYB shock on the rear of my C3 leaking! And I've been very careful to not stress them by keeping support under them so no weight is hanging on them and still ended up with one leaking. Makes me wish I had gotten something else like Delcos - even though they have a lifetime warranty and Advance Auto exchanges them with no issue its getting old having to replace my shocks constantly - never mind I've been painting them before mounting.

    Jack,
I have Koni adjustables at all four corners, and have been on this vette for 30 years. They are still set to a mid point and operate perfectly. They too are painted gray.

Jack - I'm surprised to hear of the leak issues you're having. Three shocks leaking is amazing. By the way, which KYB shock are you using, Gas-a-Justs or GR-2? I have the KYB Gas-a-Justs on both Midyear Coupes and my '64 GTO and not a problem with any of them 'but' all those shocks were bought back in the early to mid 90's. My 66 Coupe now has 8K miles on it since '94 and the 65 Coupe has maybe 3K miles on it since it's body off back in '91. No leakers in the group but maybe their quality control isn't what it used to be.

Have Bilstein's on my C-2's and they are the cheapest, best bolt-on product I've ever installed on my cars...

        Highly Recommended...

        Also painted grey...

Gas adjust. Don't understand it either, I've even been extra careful but to no avail.

I had KYB Gas-a-just shocks on my 74 BB car for many years. Never had an issue with leaks. I really liked them.

Jack - Out of curiosity, what brand of shock did you have in there prior to the KYB's? Also, now that you've had a run of bad luck with the KYB's, what brand are you considering to replace them?
