NOS smog pieces--need help identifying some of these

    IMG_6790.jpgIMG_6781.jpgIMG_6774.jpgIMG_6769.jpg

All items ordered/purchased by me, new from Chevy dealership in 1988.

The 29295 diverter I think is for an LT1

    No idea what the following diverters are for;
    7040362
    7040361
    24766

The pump is a 7081149 with 30631S date stamp
Brackets, tubes, check valves, spacers, pulleys, etc. are identified.
Thanks in advance for any info.
These item will be for sale as soon as I know what the un-identified diverters are.

    George,
The valve # 7040361 is for a 1974 LS4 and would have a broadcast code stamped with the letters DM. This info is out of the 73-74 judging manual.
Not sure yet about the others. I know the ones with the muffler was used up to 74 L48 and L82. But you don't have any of those. The numbers on the other valves aren't for the small block 73-74.

Are you sure the pump's first three digits are 708 and not 780? 7801149 was used on pretty much all 70-75 cars.

        George,
The 29295 valve I'm pretty sure isn't for a corvette. I had one that I sold as a core when I was getting all my smog stuff together for my 73. It is for a 69-73 Camaro z28 and also chevelles. The 7040362 came with my pump when I purchased it. It was not correct for my 73. It was used on75-77's. I tried to sell it it on ebay, and couldn't give it away. Still have it. Hope all this helps.

GM #7029295= 1969 Z-28, 1970-73 small block with SHP; no Corvette applications but the 1969 Z-28 makes it valuable.

GM #7040362= can't find any Chevrolet applications, possibly other GM car lines.

24766 (possibly GM #7024766)- can't find any Chevrolet application

Keep in mind that these are Rochester Division part numbers. They could be applicable to any GM car line. Just because they were purchased at a Chevrolet dealer does not mean they are for a Chevrolet application.

                Thanks Jimmy and Joe.

On the pump date, would that be the 306th day of 1973, first shift?

As to value of the 7029295, I see these ranging from $300.00 to $1,000.00 on EBay---what is a good $number?

Try for somewhere in the middle if you are sure it is in working condition and see what happens. When I put mine up for sale no one jumped on it but one person. I practically gave it away. But I bought it to use as a core so I sold /listed it that way. Good luck, whatever you decide.

George,Yes I do believe that would be the correct translation on the pump.

Re: NOS smog pieces--need help identifying some of these

                      George,
I used to tinker with smog systems some time ago. From the data that I've gathered over time:

29295 diverter, stamped code GF, service number 7029295:
                      '69 302/295 Camaro Z/28. Yes, valuable!
                      '69 350/300 Camaro 350ss
                      '70-73 w/S.H.P. 350 Camaro

I have no record of your other diverter applications, but I'm pretty sure those with one nipple are for 6-cylinder vehicles, cars and trucks.

7801149 Pumps were used on Corvettes, not sure but I believe '69-73.
                      30631S = 306th day, 1973, 1st shift, Saginaw

Cast iron orange mounting bracket is for small block.

Spacer may be small block, or big block, depending on thickness, from my recollection.

The short "insert tubes" that slip into the exhaust manifolds are made of nickel and can be hard to find NOS. Yours appear to be small block. Big block I believe are shorter.

Would need numbers from pulleys to determine possible applications. Some can be very valuable.

Some items are now in reproduction, such as tubes, spacers, pulleys. I believe David Crane of San Diego is doing "tubes", and maybe other items.

THE man to talk to about all these pieces would be Bill Hodel. He advertises in the Driveline and may be interested in purchasing all the items you have as one lot.

                      Hope this helps some.
