Looking for some information on when the wording (Copper Clad Aluminum Metric) started on the negative battery cable? The cable also has in white lettering is EI 998168 running down its spine? Based on the judging manual Copper Clad Aluminum was in 1973 but I'm not sure when the "metric" changes were after. Any help is appreciated.

The wording "COPPER CLAD ALUMINUM" actually began some time in 1972 Model Year production. I don't have my TIM&JG with me to tell you if it specifies when in that MY, but there was no metric word in 1972.

Joe, what you have is a service replacement cable. what you can do is just take a some lacquer thinner and remove the word(Metric) and it will appear as the original. Don't ask me how I know this.
