1971 Tire Size

I'm overdue for new tires for my 1971 Coupe. Which current size best replicates the original size? Also any suggestions as to manufacturer? I do not want Coker or any non standard manufacturer of replicas. Durability, quietness and, if possible, raised white lettering are uppermost.

Most folks like the 215-70-15 tire size. Others, like myself, prefer the 225-70-15 size. These fill out the wheel wells a little better in my opinion.

You will find very few quality tires in either of the above-referenced sizes and there are probably going to be even fewer as time goes on..

A universal favorite for many, many years has been the BF Goodrich T/A radial 225-70-15 raised white letter. Discount Tire sells them for around $139 apiece. I've run them on several C3 and like them a lot. Good ride and handling and good looking...IMHO.
