Re: 1962 Tire replacement
I am not familiar with America Classic tires but I can tell you that the car is judged as it left the factory. The tires would have to be the same manufacturer and same model as was available when the cars were purchased. The judging manual for your year would give you the acceptable tires for your car. There are reproduction tires available which have the original manufacturers name and style and because they are new reproduction tires they would have a DOT stamp on them. With this stamp there is a small standard deduction. I bought reproduction tires from Coker Tire for my 63. They are terrible to dive on and difficult to balance properly but the deduction at judging is minor. By the way the weights have to be mounted on the inside of the rim only and the weights are also judged so you will have to look for some old micro weights.- Top

No, they don't. You really need to get the 8th Edition of the NCRS Corvette Judging Reference Manual, which has a section covering the Standard Deductions, including tires - it explains tire deductions in detail.- Top
