    Don the strainer is a push and lock style there is a metal cup made onto the strainer dia. is slightly smaller than tube.
    New England chapter member, 63 Convert. 327/340- Chapter/Regional/national Top Flight, 72 coupe- chapter and regional Top Flight.

      Don,

      The sender restoration looks very nice, the strainer is a slip fit and probably just pushes up a inch or so. I don't think it's important how far up the tube provided it fits into the tank OK. I have the original from my 63 that I should send for restoration and if the sock is still on it (not sure) I will let you know how far it's pushed on.

      I am curious how much they charged to restore the unit, email me and let me know.
