Door glass outer seal trim screws

Hey guys, This probably isn't a big deal but I'd like to know if someone could help me out with the finish on some screws.

The outer door glass seal(wipes) sandwich a decorative stainless strip between it and the door. The strip is held in place by clips that are part of the door glass seal assy but there is one screw at each end of the stainless strip to directly attach the stainless strip to the door.

Does anyone know what the finish is on these screws?

I figured they would be a black oxide but mine were mostly rusted and it was hard to tell. However there appears to be a grey/silver color remaining in the screw threads so I'm wondering if maybe they were zinc?

I am restoring a low mile 65 and the screws in it are silver.

Hi Greg,
On my 71 the 2 screws that secure the ends of the ss molding are plated; perhaps zinc as you mention.
The screws that mount the seal to the molding are black, (or at least a dark finish).

Thanks guys, that makes sense. I guess I'll be digging out my ole Caswell kit again!
