    Convertible Top Frame

Trying to figure out if the convertable top frame for my 1965 two top car (17,570, May) is correct for judging. The first and second top bows are nearly flat. The reference manual states:

    1. 1963 through early1965 the no. 1 top bows were 3/8 inch round in section. 1965-67 no.1 topbows were 5/16 inch rectangular in section.
    2.

    Hi Bob,
The production numbers you are using for the changes in the 1965 bows are coming from Noland Adams Vol 2. That is a great book but we do use it for judging. A lot of the information in his book was gathered through surveys that were sent out to people and was not verified. The current 1965 Judging Guide (soon to be replaced) states the following: "1963 through early 1965 (vin unknown) no. 1 top bows were 3/8 inch round in section. 1965-67 No 1 top bows were 5/16 rectangular in section. The number 1 bar is the one directly behind the front header, above the driver's head. This is the only major difference in the 1963-67 model years." Maybe some of the folks working on the new 1965 JG can commit.
    Hope this helps
