Re: 1977 engine color
Marv..my guess would be first 200-250 units...I have only seen one orange engine..and I believe it was in the low 200 vin #s.
I would contact..Brian Pearce NCRS National Team Leader 73-82 contact in front of Restorer Magazine..
or Ken Sleeper who does a lot of NCRS Judging Guide updates for 73-82. He is I believe either in the IL or IN Chapter.Peter Gregory # 4157

Re: 1977 engine color
You are welcome Marv...
I don't know of that person....
1977 was the start of a lot of changes in the C3 although the cars changed a lot in my opinion..,but 68-82 is a long duration in years. I think maybe one of the longest runs.. Most people think that '78 was the big change because of the rear window change, but '77 was a lot of mechanical changes that I see during judging....everything went smaller and simpler...hood hinges, vacuum canisters, license plate frames...all of course to cut cost and weight.
I myself.....I purchased a new 1976 in December of 75, but I always and still do today prefer a '77 over a '76.Peter Gregory # 4157
