Re: 1976 alarm system switch
Steve, Does your alarm switch mount on the rear tail lamp panel ? If so they can be re-coded by a locksmith. It should use the round key which is the same key for the lock on the rear compartment door. There are a couple of guys here on the discussion board that are regulars. Pete Lindahl , and Gary Beaupre. use the members list for there contacts. and both are reasonable.New England chapter member, 63 Convert. 327/340- Chapter/Regional/national Top Flight, 72 coupe- chapter and regional Top Flight.- Top

Re: 1976 alarm system switch
For '76, the alarm key is supposed to be the same key that operates the car doors, storage compartment lock and spare tire lock. As Edward says, it should be the oval key and it should have a D keyway with the letter D stamped into the rail of the key. Do you not have that key for your car? And if you do have that key, does it not operate the alarm lock?

Wasn't the alarm switch on a '76 mounted on the l/f fender because of the bulbous bumper on that year?Leif
