    Rich,

I'm sorry not to have been able to reply to your question sooner. Here is the PDF from CRC on the SP 350. I have had great success using it and very happy with it's results. It's been a while since I peaked under the LT 1, but now I'm curious to see how it has held up over the years. The car isn't driven so I expect a nice clean belly to this day. With a quick google it appears that the product might be available at Walmart in the aerosol cans case of 12? I think I only used three cans to do the entire chassis, even the fiberglass areas.

Believe it or not, the most effective degreaser I've found is Dawn dish soap diluted with hot water. Mix it up in an empty Windex sprayer, apply, wait a few minutes, then rinse with water. Vary the Dawn/water concentration as needed. Sometimes a soft bristle brush (I'll use an old toothbrush for tight spots) may be needed to work loose the caked on stuff. It works amazingly well, leaves no residue, doesn't stink or sting, is gentle on the surface finish, plus it's non-toxic and cheap. When done, spray some on your hands to clean up!

        Kevin,

Thanks for the link to the product. My wife just bought a brand new Subaru Outback (if you saw the roads around here, you'd understand) this week-end! I'm thinking about a little experiment on the brand new chassis hardware, using this product! Salt season is FINALLY almost over.

          Duke,
Can mineral spirits be used to degreae painted metal chassis-suspension parts such as tie rods without removing the paint. Specifically on my '62.
          Thanks

I don't know about '62s, but any asphalt-based paint like used on '63 frames made by AO Smith will be dissolved with mineral spirits/paint thinner.

Sorry, have been away from the PC for the past week. Thanks for all the suggestions. Very interesting. I always thought the idea was to keep oil based products away from fiberglass. Aren't mineral spirits and the CRS product both oil based?
