63 Carburetor cleaner

I am looking for a cleaner for my 3461S AFB carburetor. The carburetor is off the car and in good condition only some oxidation. I would like to leave the carburetor assembled and use a brush for cleaning. Any information on a safe cleaner appreciated. Information on the color of the carburetor base appreciated.

they have spray carb cleaner but laquer thinner and a brush will get rid of most grime.
