    1970 LS-5 Stamp pad

Looking at a 1970 LS-5. The stamp pad is of some concern to me. Specifically the last two numbers, 7 & 3. Some qualified opinions please.

    Thanks, John

    Re: 1970 LS-5 Stamp pad

I see added marks on the diagonal, which may have come from someone scraping the pad or may have come if it was ever resurfaced. These are especially notable around the ZU characters, but continue faintly above the VIN stamping.

The VIN stamping is faint on the left, heavy on the right.
    It appears TFP to me.
Nice factory broach marks on the far right end of the pad.

That's my take based on this one photo. More photos or a personal inspection may change my opinion.

      What is TFP??

would it not be reasonable for the block to be decked and not be exactly level across the surface? Just asking

Any respectable stamper would not do such a lousy job so it is factory original!!!

They were decked on Day 1, which is what the factory broach marks are from.
In NCRS world, virtually any other marks on the pad other than those applied by Flint, Tonawanda or St. Louis will arouse suspicion and scrutiny. That's just the way it is.

                Donald,

brighampton blue right now, should be corvette bronze, coupe, saddle leather interior, coupe, ps, pb, a/c, pwr windows. Motor seized when run at idle with no water. Motor can be turned with effort using breaker bar. Just looking right now...

Nice, That color would be very cool indeed. Hope you get it!!

Is the rest of it pretty trashed? How about original trans and rear?

From limited pictures, it looks good. As you know until you see it up close you just never know... The car is not local, and I have no time in the foreseeable future to go see it...
