Has anyone found a way to remove mirrors easier than what I am experiencing? Here is what I have done so far......remove inside door panel, lower window, loosen inside window cushions, loosen forward window guide bolts, pull window in as far as it will go, use assortment of tools and magnet to attempt reaching 7/16 nuts (2). A 1/4 drive with socket and magnet was successful for the forward fastener but the aft is nearly impossible to reach with window still slightly in the way. Does the window need to come out? Maybe a low profile socket and 1/4 thin drive bar might work. Normal ratchet and flex ext doesn't work......its close. No AIM ......HELP!

Re: Sport mirror removal
David,
Is the window in the way or too high? If it is you can loosen the 2 lower window position stops in the 2 window tracks and get the window lower. The screws are typically Philip head screws that hold each stop. The stops hold the rollers that attach to the window glass. Loosen them and drop the window as low as you can.

Re: Sport mirror removal
Thanks Gary...........I was able to use a pass thru ratchet and low profile socket allowing max access between the window and the recessed access hole to nut. Have to duct tape window so you don't scratch the glass due to tight fit.I slipped a flex magnet thru the ratchet into the socket to hold the nut so it didn't fall into the door. Felt like I was doing surgery on the damn car. If the head of your mirror ever comes loose remember you have to remove the mirror to get access to two phillips screws. USE LOCTITE! The job is a PITA.- Top
