#8 with #6 heads.

I believe the screws are #8 with standard #8 heads. There are instances in the interior that use #8 screws with #6 heads (sometimes called "trim" screws) but this is not one of them.

In answer to your question Ed, they make screws with smaller heads in many different sizes. #10 screws with #8 heads and etc. Stop at any upholstery shop or canvas shop. Better yet just google it!

Time out gents.......John is correct, not #8/#6 in this case. Here are the suspects.......
IMO, These screws don't have smaller heads.
