I just stripped the 7 blade fan on my L79 ,350 HP,AC Vert. The part number and date C72 would make me believe this is a 1972 March build fan . The clutch fan fits into my June build but would anyone have the correct part numbers for these two items. Thank you in advance. A great hobby, just when you think everything is correct you have a setback. I keep smiling.

Re: 1968 Correct 7 blade fan and clutch fan
Diving in to a lot of threads, I've come to the conclusion that part#. 3888366 is the correct fan for a 68 L79 small block with AC. 5 blades with 5 flat rivets per blade .Now for the markings. H, 66 , front. Would be the only markings. No dates ? Fan clutch would be part # 3916141. CK. With a short water pump. Is there a part number for this water pump. Thanks, JeffLast edited by Jeff P.; February 11, 2015, 12:03 PM.68 L79 Convertible: Triple Black: Work In Progress, Body off. Now on!

The 5 blade GM #3888366 is the correct fan blade assembly. No 7 blade fans used for 1968. No part number or date code found on the 3888366. Original fan clutch was GM #3937771.
The waterpump assembly part number would do you no good now. However, it was a GM CASTING # 3782608.In Appreciation of John Hinckley- Top

Many thanks, Joe. Water pump is correct . I imagine a previous owner changed the 5 blade to a seven.68 L79 Convertible: Triple Black: Work In Progress, Body off. Now on!

Joe,I see that some rivets are raised and some are flat. Was there a difference in 68.68 L79 Convertible: Triple Black: Work In Progress, Body off. Now on!

Don't know if this helps or not, but out of an early 69, C02 build date. 10,900 miles, 350 HP with A/C.

Jeff------
Rivets seen in Gary B's post are correct for 1968. Also, the fan clutch seen is the correct one for your 68. However, very early 1968 small block with A/C may have used the GM #3916139 fan clutch. In Appreciation of John Hinckley- Top
