    44 years ago today

On February 10, 1971, 44 years ago today, I plunked down $3300 to purchase my '69 small block coupe. And 44 years and over 250,000 later I still get the same exhilarating feeling when I go into the garage/shop and see it! And it's still not done (are they ever?). I just put on a new set of Diamondback redline radials, pulled back the steering column to correct an installation mistake made years ago, and re-installed the A/C compressor. I hope I live to see the 50th.

      Hi Jeff,
      NICE!
I understand what you mean about the feeling you still get when you see it.
With the age of members and cars I think there are more folks thinking about that 50 year anniversary!
I hope you continue to find things on it that 'need' to be refined.
      Regards,
      Alan

Jeff, Congratulations on 44 years with your 69. I bought my 65 about the same time and, like you, it's still a thrill to own and drive. I hope you have many more years of enjoyment.

And then there are the ones who haven't seen their own 50 year mark.

Congrats, Jeff. I look forward to seeing you celebrate your 50th with the car.

            Hi Patrick,
Thinking about having a car for 50 years is pretty exciting, but the implications are a bit sobering too!
I hope you're blessed and reach that milestone with your 72!

CONGRATULATIONS JEFF!!! The feeling will last forever! I just came from the garage with a fast heartbeat after speaking to and petting my '57 I got over 50 years ago. My stomach will come down out of my throat in a few minutes unless I go back in the garage. Steve

that is great Jeff, I had forgotten how cheap you could buy one back then. I was in college and couldn't afford a new but envy those who did, congrats on still having the thrill. on a side note there is a guy with my local club that has a riverside gold/gold SB 69 he bought new and he feels the same way you do.

                  Congratulations Jeff,

I wish I could say that but we bought our first Vette in 2001 so even if we kept it for 44 years I would be 85 years old!

Congratulations to you AND your Corvette, Jeff! That car is just as lucky to have found you as you are to have found it all those years ago.

Glad the steering column R&R worked out. Looking forward to seeing the A/C completed and that beautiful car cruising down Woodward this spring with new skins and cool as a cucumber.
