    66' 425 HP 427 Ad

    Hello All,
    I purchased the attached ad from e bay as I have always liked the line drawing and thought I might take it and get it enlarged into a poster some day. I ws looking at it today before putting it away and I noticed a strange bolt that doesn't look right to me. Between the heater hose fitting and the water pump bypass fitting there is a bolt head that appears to be bolted through the block, a spacer and into the backside of the water pump. Does anyone know what this is for? Is it real or did the artis just make a mistake. If anyone has any idea, please let me know.

    Thanks,
    Bill

    PS here is the full add in case anybody needs to see it.

    I bought that in a poster form at Carisle a few years ago. I always liked that shot. But I never noticed what you point out. My guess it's just a drawing over sight

        I had this poster made into the front of tee-shirts that I sold at Corvette shows back in 1990 where I was buying/selling cars & parts.. They are black with the silver drawing.

          Joe;

          In the first engine picture, I particularly like the close proximity of the fuel line to the heater hose; like maybe the engineer thought it would be helpful to pre-heat the fuel in that manner. I dare say, there probably isn't a survivor anywhere that these items are still that cozy.

          Nice articles though. Thanks for posting.

            Stu,

            You have a good eye! Right you are, the fuel line and heater hose are quite snuggly, they appear to be touching each other. Bad idea, it would be even worse with today's ethanol laced fuel!!!
