      Dom -

Makes no difference whether you have a tele column or not - that part was NOT used on ANY '67 Corvette - it was used in '66, shown in the '66 A.I.M. in UPC 9, sheet A4, item #4, 3839153 support. The column mounting system was completely redesigned for 1967.

        John,
Thanks how did this part get on my 67 is what puzzles me. Why is the mount of the cable not in the 67 AIM? Did I just miss it wheel paging thru it. Where does the cable mount?
I bought the vette in 71 from JD corvette ( wrecked) in 1971. The car was a total loss because it was only worth about 1700.00 in good shape back then so they sold a few parts off it. My tele column was missing the lever and spacers that lock the wheel. I bought all the missing parts a few weeks ago and they fit.
This makes me wonder if the tele column was put on when I bought the wrecked car and was from a 66?
If that part does not go to this car then where did the 67 mount the trip set cable?

          Re: What is it??

          DONE,
Stephen in my post found it in the AIM and my cable is mounted. Not the same as the pic in the owners manual but in the hole next to the hood release. The AIM pic shows that hole in the column bracket.

NOW, where did my bracket come from? My cable was attached to it when I removed the whole dash. At this point I don't care. You were all right about it not belonging th a 67. There must be a vette gremlin that does things like this when all is going good. But then, this car was doomed for parts back in 71.

          Thank's ALL

You have to remember the owners manuals were produced long before regular production, and are filled with irregularities.
