    cleaning lead weights

I have some original lead weights that have been in a bucket for 40+ years . I am going to glass bead the steel clip but I dont want to glass bead the lead . Does anyone know what chemical I can use to make them look like new . I also have a tumbler I use to clean brass but I think the lead is to soft for that .
