I must defer to this August 2, 1968 car and I am amazed there is a bolt, plactic sleeve, metal washer and nut. My car is a February 18, 1969 production date. I am sure someone removed the tray at one time or another and when re-installed use a metal screw and Jnuts to make it easy.

I stand corrected as the bracket to the bulkhead has bolts and the bracket to the tray is riveted on my car.

You have been very helpful and in no way did I intend to question your car originality in any way. If you perceived it in that manner please accept my humble apology.

I would still like to se someone look this item up in the 1968 AIM and post how it was done on the 68 MY. There was a lot of 68 carry over and changes during 1969.

You are correct, I knew what I wanted to convey but made a mistake. This chemo is killing my ability to concentrate.

Here are a couple more photos, I believe are from 70-71 MYs. Note that the photos show the welded square nuts on the brackets. My Oct 4 68 build does not have these nuts. Sorry, still not the answer but some information to work with.
