    Whoa...........this thread started with the question of how many 78 pacers do you think are alive and well? It digressed into something else. Now if anyone is interested at taking an educated guess using the registry or whatever please do.

      Your guess is as close as anyone elses. Registries are not effective methods for tracking cars...they have limited participation and I doubt owners find real value in association with them. And my experience with them when its managers serve as for-profit owners, an unwillingness to allow member to member communication and collaboration unlike forums such as the tech board here and CF.

        Wonder if anyone has done a 50 state registration search, Pace Cars had separate Vin's correct? Some manufactures have commercials touting "how many of their cars are still on the road". Of course it wouldn't account for non-registered cars in collections, but might be a start. Know anyone in law enforcement?

          Sounds labor intensive but always a possibility given the special vin as you noted. Probably not that important at this point. thanks
