I wish I had known you were looking for this spring. I just sold off my entire collection of 68 gas doors and gas door parts, including a number of loose door open springs.

As you have noticed, the spring was originally attached to the bezel with cast in rivets. Don't have any idea how best to fix that and make it look correct. I did have one of my 68 gas doors that used a couple of small nuts and screws to hold the spring in place after the rivets had broken loose.

Good luck on your car dude.

ed, Ed, ED! LOL Oh well, such is life. I never knew you had shark parts bud. Not a problem, if I stumble onto one, I'll "re-repair" this bezel.

Hiya Joe! Good to hear from you too!
The red car was a '72. Sold that in 2007 and restored that gold, '69 340 Dodge Dart. I think you remember that car? Sold that in 2009 and built a '69 Dart GT Convertible with a 440 and 4-speed, 8-3/4 rear with 4.56 gears, fenderwell headers, frame connectors, 'glass nose, fat & skinny Cragars etc. Sold that when I bought this all original (well, mostly original) low mile '70 300 4-speed car.

I was on my way home from work when I stopped for gas. The attendant remembered my red '72 and told me about this blue '70 he was going to sell. It had sat in his garage for 27 years, had 63000 miles on it and he was looking to sell it. Next thing I know it was in my garage. It still ran and drove, in fact, I drove it home. Been fixing small stuff since but I put over 2000 miles on it this summer.

I miss going to the FL show and seeing all you long distance friends. I plan to drive this car to Carlisle this summer so if you're there, it will be great to see you again!
Hope you have been well, Joe!
Hey! Do you still have the Cummins truck?

Next year guys, if my old bones feel just a little better, I'll be there.

Pasta, I had 28 1968 gas door lids / assemblies. My plan was to develop a way to restore them. Another guy in Iowa came up with a solution, and he bought my entire stock.

I am getting out of the old car / parts business.
