    Tank sticker.

With little left of my 70 LT1 coupe tank sticker is there any way to get a copy of this? I can make out 370hp 4 speed 370 rear end white letter tires. All the numbers match on my car and I have the dealer invoice where it was bought new in Atlanta Ga. The invoice does not include all of the options. I seen where the window sticker can be duplicated but without a true look at the whole tank sticker how can that be done. Thanks for any info.

Have you searched under the dash for a copy? I found my 1970's copy stashed on top of the back of the tach location. My 1968's was behind the ducting behind the radio.

      Hi James,
You're right that an accurate duplicate of the window sticker can't be made without knowing how the car was originally equipped when delivered.
There's not really any value in a 'duplicate' sticker beyond it being a conversation piece at a car show. People are always amazed how low the price for the car, it's options, and the delivery charge are.
"Sometimes" if you can get a copy of a very good tank sticker (in your case for a 70 LT-!) to compare your tank sticker to, you can begin to pick up even small, stray, details of a couple of letters and/or numbers on your sheet that match up to the same letters/numbers on the sheet you're comparing it to. This can sometimes lead to determining some original equipment or options on your car.
      Good Luck!
      Regards,
      Alan

Dash and speedo-tach cluster is out. I've not looked behind the heater box yet. The dealer invoice has some of the options marked but with no RPO codes.

James, Sometimes as Jim T. eluded to, the tank sticker can be found under the dash, some have found one stuffed between the Tachometer and Speedometer housings. If the mice got to the original tank sticker they will sometimes make a nest inside the frame rails, I did find about 2/3rds of my sticker in the rail of coarse in many pieces and had to sit at the kitchen and tape back together.

            James,

Sometimes there is useful dealer training/sales information in the year specific vehicle information kits available free from the GM Heritage Center. The link below is to the kit web site. Once on the web page scroll down to "Corvette" and select "Show". A new page will open with links to year specific information kits. In your case select "1971", after approving the usage agreement, a pdf will download. (Save the pdf for future reference.)

The pdf contains various information about your year car including rpo codes, dealer training, manufacturing specifications, etc. Given you have the dealer invoice, this pdf may let you piece together info for a tank sticker/window sheet. Scroll through the pdf, I think there are some rpo descriptions starting on page 132 of 165.
