Early 1968 Flywheel L79

Need to replace my flywheel on my October 1967 build 327/350 HP. Anyone know the proper GM part # for this application?

Looks like the original would have been 3791022, casting number 3791021

Yes, the original flywheel was GM #3791022. However, it was discontinued from SERVICE in December, 1971 and replaced by GM #3973452. The latter was discontinued in June, 1977 and replaced by GM #366860. Unfortunately, the 366860 was discontinued without supercession more than 10 years ago. These flywheels were all standard weight, 12-3/4", 153 tooth ring gear.

You can obtain a new flywheel which meets the original specifications as manufactured by LUK under their part number LFW131.

By the way, I should also have added that if you're OK with a lightweight, cast iron flywheel, you can still get one that will work perfectly from GM. This is GM #14085720 which is the evolution of the L-88 flywheel. It will retrofit to your application with no other changes whatsoever required.
