C1 ignition wiring routing thru dash

The wiring from the Key thru the firewall to Starter etc is burned out on my 1960. In order to replace the wiring thru the firewall it looks like I have to dissemble the dash on the riders side of the car. Is this true? - also looks like that involves removal of the dash components all the way from the center console to the door frame, again is this true or is there an easier way to get the wiring harness thru the firewall. I guess my hands are just too big but I can't follow the wiring from the inside of the car all the way to the firewall as the heater blower and ducts are in the way.
As always any help or advice would be appreciated.

I inserted a pull wire on the engine side of firewall through hole and worked it until I could see it above heater components.

Did you take out the lower part of the dash, as it is I can't see over the heater blower.

I am sure that I removed the package tray tray and the part below it.

That is what I figured so I did the same tonight and used your idea with a guide wire. A little tough to pull it thru the gommet but got it thru.

Make sure you have that harness properly routed and supported by the proper clips that should be there. The AIM has a good drawing of it. That's most important since you have moving wiper cables and cowl vent mechanism ect that can easily cut and short out that harness. Dan

Good Point - will have to try to find that picture in the AIM.
