Were C1 door mechanisms painted?

I understand that the C1 striker plates were mounted and masked off during body paint but how about the lock mechanism mounted in the door? Was that in place or mounted after the door was painted? How about the garnish molding - same thing?

The door latch was in place with a cover over it. Should show a small amount of paint on the latch right next to the door jam.

I don't see any paint on the locking mechanism on my early 62 car. The striker plate has it though.

We know the door latch was in place at paint time as the screws holding the latch to the door were painted. I am sure coverage could vary from none to a small amount depending on how the cover was placed over the latch.
