I have been reading a lot of old forum information and I can not find a clear answer on where I need to place the whitewall side of the spare up or down with the black wheel side showing in the truck. Any guidance ?

If the whitewall is installed facing out on the wheel, which would be correct. Them the whitewall must face down, so the jack can also be installed inside the back of the wheel cavity, under the spare tire cover, and bolted down.
