78 battery compartment lid seal
Does anyone know if the rubber lid seal (part # 3918669) was actually used on the 78 models. Mine doesn't have one and there are rubber cushions on the lip for the lid door so i am wondering if they were used on later C3s?? Doc Rebuild has them for the battery compartment or all 3 storage compartments.

I just answered my own question..............Chevrolet deleted the seal with the advent of the new maintenance-free Delco "Freedom" battery. Advertised as non gas emitting the seal was perceived as not needed. That being said there are seamless die cut seals out there for all three compartments that can be installed without gluing that may reduce cabin noise. They can simply be removed for judging. I can't say they work tho. Parts vendors continue to advertise these repro seals for 68-79E which can confuse. Sorry for the fire drill.
