Does anyone have a "fairly close" location for a 62. I know it is suppose to be "under your butt" on the drivers side, but I have looked extensively and cannot find mine. The frame underwent sand blasting when it was restored and I hope they did not blow the number away. A picture would be great!

Re: Frame Serial Number on a 62
Sand blasting should not have "blown the number away." The force required to strike the two sets of S/Ns created two slight indents in the top of the rail; closer to the outside edge of the rail than the center. If you run your fingers along the top of the frame rail under driver seat area, you should be able to feel the indents. The indents are subtle.- Top

This might help, at least in its likely position relative to frame rail width.

These are the numbers on my 1960 after sandblasting and paint (highlighted in chalk). You can see the indents that Joe is talking about.

Re: Frame Serial Number on a 62
I found my frame numbers under the body mounting pad at the joint in the body in front of the seat. The stamp is faint and the last two numbers do not show.

These might help too.....THis, a '59 but the same on '62. You can "feel" the depressions from the stamp machine with your eyes.

And here with the body on, on a different 59, mine....
