I'd like to get good pictures of the splash shield seals that are correctly installed and the underside of the plywood spare cover from a car that is correct. Thanks in advance.

Re: Need pictures of '61 splash shields and plywood spare wheel cover underside
John, just a FYI they don't fit very well against the inner fenders. In fact, they usually don't fit very well at the attachment points either. Many times I see enlarged holes and 'interesting' hardware holding them on. They rusted out most of the time from nasty conditions.
My '59 has had them on at least 29 years as I don't recall ever taking them off. When I get to it I'll take a few photos but I don't think it'll help show true originality.
I just found a few from a '59 I restored. May be original, complete with rust holes. See the seal, not too tight against the fender.

Quite true - those splash shields would loosen up over time and start this tinny rattling sound and the exasperated owners would run sheet metal screws or what-have-you into them to make them stop chattering. My '61 had a bunch of that stuff done. And yes, I replaced those seals and the fit was almost comical. Just have to do the best you can on these I think...
John - I really hope you get your Top Flight - you are certainly putting the effort in !- Top
