    Carburetor

I own a 1966 Corvette 3-speed, radio delete that has had a body off restoration. I have pictures but no other information as to who did the work. If anyone has information please contact me. Also I want to to purchase the kit to rebuild the carburetor. It is a Holly and has the following numbers stamped on it "3367...4743...List 3367...3379...3884505-DA. What do the numbers mean and where can I purchase the correct rebuild kit?? Thanks

Have you checked the local auto parts store?

Holley kit #37-119, or Quick Fuel kit #3-200 are among the good choices for your carburetor kit question. Summit, Jegs, or a well-known auction site are among the places to purchase. Not sure if your FLAPS would carry same.

            Martin,

If you have a 1966 327 engine, you have the correct carburetor for your car (List 3367). However, if 3379 is the number under the list number (date code), the carburetor is a replacement carburetor and not a factory dated carburetor. Sometime after 1972, Holley went to a four digit date code, day of the year first(3 digits) and year as the last digit. 3379 would be the 337th day of 1979, 1989, or maybe 1999.

Prior to 1972 the date code had only 3 digits, year, month, week. If you are looking for no date deduct at judging, you should be looking for a 3 digit date code beginning with 5 or 6 and prior to, and within 6 months of your assembly date. But the date code deduct is really not that much, and if you are happy with the carb, stick with it.

4743 is the correct number which should be on the primary metering block. Some also had the list number on the metering block, some didn't.

Some Holley's also had the List number on one of the corners of the throttle plate, some didn't.

For Holley parts, rebuild kits and even original carburetors, Chicago Corvette has the most extensive supply of Holley parts.
You will probably hear some negatives about them on this board, but I have never had a problem with them and have had great service. Call them up and get their extensive carburetor manual. Place your orders by phone.
