According to my database Virgil had the car for sale in 1979 in Vette Vues for $11K then $11.5K, Later Virgil received a Top Flight award for it around 1980. The next hit I have is in 1999 Bill NCRS#12419 was selling it in the Driveline for $42K. Reading between the lines of the Mecum listing and in Bill's ad I see it more then likely does not still have its original engine. It has been part of Bloomington Gold's Special collection. Neat car. $140K does not seem to unreasonable. there's only 1 number 1. Eric

Not sure how long it was, maybe 6-8yrs ago, it was sold at the Bob McDorman Collection in Columbus, Ohio Mecum Auction. Don't remember what it went for then. Many of those cars then sold for way over reasonable in my book, IMHO. Still see several of those cars travelling from auction to auction.....

I also still have my '74 Corvette coupe & last time I checked it was still the only '74 with that VIN #.
